Big Bust on M25: 55 Kilos of Cocaine Seized

Police smashed a major drug run after stopping a silver Ford Ranger on the M25 between junctions 10 and 11 in Surrey last Friday (16 December).

Officers from the Organised Crime Partnership – a joint team of NCA and Met cops – found two huge bags containing a whopping 55 kilos of suspected cocaine inside the vehicle.

Man Arrested in Major Drug Haul

Michael Buttery, 53, from Kinbrace, Sutherland, Scotland, was arrested at the scene. He’s now charged with one offence and appeared at Guildford Magistrates’ Court on Monday (19 December), where he was remanded in custody.

Buttery is set to return to Guildford Crown Court on 19 January.

“This was a significant amount of drugs which have been stopped from reaching the streets as a result of this operation,” said Andrew Tickner, OCP operations manager.

“Working with our policing partners we are determined to target and disrupt the organised criminal groups who bring violence and exploitation into our communities.”
