Knife-Wielding Robber Jailed for 33 Months in Chester-Le-Street
Jordan Gibson threatened a man with a knife on North Road last October, pressing the blade against the victim’s throat before robbing him of cash and fleeing the scene.
Quick Police Action Leads to Arrest
The victim called police straight away and gave a detailed description. Officers quickly identified and arrested 27-year-old Gibson from Chester-Le-Street on suspicion of robbery and possession of a knife.
Guilty Plea Sees Gibson Sentenced at Durham Crown Court
Gibson pleaded guilty to the offences and was handed a 33-month prison sentence at Durham Crown Court on Tuesday.

“Although robbery rates remain low in County Durham and Darlington, we remain committed to bringing offenders like Gibson to justice,” said Detective Chief Inspector Christopher Smiles of Durham Constabulary. “This is a despicable crime which no one deserves to be the victim of, and I am pleased we have removed this particularly dangerous offender from our streets.”
