Predator Tyrone Allert Locked Up for 12 Years Over N17 Horror Van Attack

Tyrone Allert was sentenced to 12 years in prison, plus five years on extended licence, at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Tuesday, 9 April. He’s been convicted of false imprisonment and attempted rape of a woman in N17.

Chilling Van Ordeal Captured on Camera

The nightmare began on Sunday, 24 July, when police were called to Marsh Lane, N17, after reports of a man with his jeans down and a woman screaming ‘Help me’ from inside a white van. The same vehicle, driven by Allert, had crashed into six other cars on Warwick Road, N11. Officers also revealed he drove at a man, who narrowly dodged injury.

Multiple police units were scrambled. An ANPR tracker was placed on Allert’s van. After a swift investigation, the victim was found at an East London hospital, battered but lucky to escape life-threatening injuries. She was supported by specialist officers.

Brutal Assault and Racial Abuse on Cops

When arrested at his home that same day, Allert was hit with a raft of charges including attempted GBH with intent, assault ABH, attempted rape, rape, kidnapping, racially aggravated harassment, assault on an emergency worker, possession of an offensive weapon, and dangerous driving.

The court heard the 28-year-old victim had been drinking with friends when Allert picked her up. Knowing she was drunk, he gave her more alcohol before abusing her sexually in his van. He repeatedly stopped, trying to force himself on her while beating her into submission.

During custody, Allert racially abused and violently assaulted a police officer, causing injuries needing hospital treatment. Thankfully, the officer has fully recovered.

Damning Footage Seals Allert’s Fate

Despite Allert’s claim that the victim consented, police found video footage on his phone showing him verbally abusing and assaulting her. The victim is heard saying “this is rape” and clearly refusing sex. The clips also show her desperately trying to escape, only for Allert to drag her back inside.

Detective Constable Iain McDonald said: “The victim-survivor in this case has been incredibly brave. Realising the danger she was in, she fought tirelessly to escape Tyrone Allert, a violent predator.”

“We are dedicated to protecting women and girls and eradicating sexual violence caused by predatory men like Allert. I sincerely hope the victim can move forward, leaving Allert and his despicable actions behind her.”
