Peter Lamble, 47, from Plymouth, jailed for child sex offences
Grooming and Abuse in Devon and Cornwall
Peter Lamble, 47, of Citadel Road, Plymouth, has been sentenced at Plymouth Crown Court. He was convicted of sexual activity with a child aged 13 to 15 and causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity. The offences occurred at multiple locations in Plymouth and Cornwall.
Lamble was found not guilty on four other counts, and a jury failed to reach verdicts on three more. Prosecutors chose not to retry these latter charges.
He must also sign the Sex Offenders’ Register for life.
Victim’s Courage Brings Justice
The victim, who reported Lamble’s abuse in 2020, bravely confronted him. Lamble apologised, claiming he “didn’t know what he was doing.” Despite this, Lamble denied any wrongdoing during police interviews.
Detective Constable Alicia Pointon praised the victim’s bravery:
“The victim in this case has displayed incredible courage by reporting what happened and remaining engaged throughout the investigation and subsequent court process. Peter Lamble has never had the courage to admit what he did and by continuing not to do so he forced the victim to give evidence at a trial. It is due to her strength and bravery that he has now been sentenced for his offending.”
She added: “It is never too late to report sexual abuse and any report will be thoroughly investigated by the force.”
