Lincoln Brawl: Doorstaff Punched in High Street Attack
Chaos erupted on Lincoln’s High Street when a man threw punches at a doorstaff member, leaving him with hours of hearing loss. The victim, a man in his 30s, was verbally abused before the attacker vanished into the night.
Flashpoint on Friday Night
The violent incident took place just before 9pm on Friday, 6 July. Police launched an immediate investigation, teaming up with the City of Lincoln Council’s CCTV unit to track down the culprit.
Man Arrested and Charged
Yesterday morning (Wednesday, 12 July), officers from the Response team and the local Neighbourhood Policing Team swooped on Mohamed El-Haddad, 25, from Boundary Street, Lincoln. He was arrested and charged with common assault.
At Lincoln Magistrates’ Court today, El-Haddad pleaded guilty to the assault charge.
Sentence and Jail Time
El-Haddad’s previous seven-week suspended sentence was revoked, and he was sent straight to prison to serve it. On top of that, he received an additional seven days behind bars, running concurrently for the new assault.
