Drug Kingpin Gets 17 Years for Flooding Milton Keynes with Class A and B
Paul Daly, 37, has been sentenced to a whopping 17 years and six months behind bars. The Milton Keynes man admitted a string of drug supply conspiracies involving heroin, cocaine, cannabis, and ketamine.
EncroChat Sting Seals His Fate
Police uncovered Daly’s role as the mastermind using encrypted messages from the cracked EncroChat network, part of the massive Operation Venetic crackdown. Between March and June 2020, Daly coordinated the dirty trade across Milton Keynes.
He pleaded guilty last December at Amersham Crown Court and was finally locked up on 28 July after appearing again in court.
Multiple Charges, One Heavy Sentence
- Conspiring to supply cocaine – 17 years 6 months
- Heroin conspiracy – 6 years
- Cannabis conspiracy – 4 years
- Ketamine conspiracy – 18 months
All sentences will run concurrently, locking Daly up for the long haul.
Police Vow to Crack Down on Drug Dealers
“Daly was the mastermind behind this plot to flood Milton Keynes with class A and class B drugs,” said Detective Constable Andy Hall of Thames Valley Police’s Serious & Organised Crime Unit.
“Thanks to Operation Venetic and the EncroChat takedown, we disrupted his network and gathered ironclad evidence leading to this guilty plea.”
“We remain fully committed to ridding our communities of drug crime. This sentence removes a significant organised criminal from our streets.”
“Drug supply causes untold harm, especially to the most vulnerable. We will continue to make Thames Valley a hostile environment for dealers using every covert and overt tactic at our disposal.”
“If you have any information about drug dealing, call 101 or report anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
