County Lines Dealer Nabbed in Rugby Sting

Rumon Ahmed, 22, from Shrewsbury Road, Forest Gate, London, was caught red-handed and sentenced to prison for peddling hard drugs in Rugby.

Spotted in the Act

On the afternoon of 11 December last year, plainclothes cops spotted Ahmed conducting a drug deal from a light blue Audi on Manor Court Road, Rugby. Officers pulled him over and discovered a stash of class A drugs and £330 in cash.

Justice Served

After a detailed investigation, Ahmed pleaded guilty at Warwick Crown Court on Wednesday 2 December. He was slapped with a hefty sentence of two years and six months for possession with intent to supply heroin and crack cocaine.

Police Crack Down on County Lines

“On the day of the offence, Rumon Ahmed had travelled from Coventry to deal drugs in the Rugby area, known as county lines drug dealing,” said Det Con Gary Hammond, Warwickshire Police.

“Illegal drugs bring misery not just to users but the whole community. We will target dealers and disrupt their operations.”

“This sentence should serve as a warning. We are committed to rooting out drug crime and protecting our communities.”
