Knife and Drugs Bust on A610 Layby as Police Nab Suspect
Quick-Thinking Cops Crack Down on Suspicious Exchange
Police swooped after a suspicious deal was spotted in a layby on the A610 near Nuthall just before 4.30pm on 8 April 2022. Officers launched a search for the vehicles involved and soon pulled over a black Ford Fiesta on Coventry Lane, Bramcote.
Knives and Amphetamine Found in Vehicle
The driver, Daniel Gamble, 39, from Peveril Drive, Ilkeston, was arrested after officers discovered knives and a stash of amphetamine inside the car. Gamble now faces three charges for possession of blades in public and possession of a Class B drug.
Suspect Bailed Ahead of Court Appearance
Gamble has been bailed to appear at nottingham/" title="Nottingham" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on 13 May 2022. Nottinghamshire Police are taking no chances with knife and drug crime in the area.
“Thanks to the quick actions of officers, we have been able to seize a quantity of class B drugs and potentially dangerous weapons and put a suspect before the courts,” said Inspector Matt Scott of Nottinghamshire Police.
“It is important the public know carrying knives is illegal and doesn’t protect you – it only puts you in more danger. Our force treats knife and drug crime extremely seriously and will continue robust action against offenders.”
