Arson fiend jailed for four years after terrifying flat blaze and brutal assault
Fire and fury in Milford Haven flat
Lloyd Jenkins, 33, of Richard John Road, Milford Haven, has been locked up after a two-day trial at Swansea Crown Court. The man was found guilty of arson, assault, and criminal damage following a terrifying incident last October.
Smoke alarms and police called to horrifying scene
On Sunday, October 16, 2022, police rushed to a flat after reports of smoke billowing from the property. Jenkins’ partner told officers he had assaulted her in a violent argument shortly before the blaze erupted.
Deliberate fire and destruction
An investigation revealed Jenkins started fires deliberately — setting fire to the oven and the kitchen floor. The entire flat suffered heavy smoke damage. The victim’s one-year-old child was in the flat at the time, while valuables including a TV were smashed on purpose.
Justice served after quick arrest
Jenkins was swiftly added to the police wanted list and was arrested the very next day. He was charged with arson with recklessness as to whether life was endangered, assault by beating, and criminal damage. Despite denying all charges, the jury convicted him on all counts. He has now been sentenced to four years behind bars.
