Darren Nicholas tries to dodge police but cops see through his dog injury excuse!
Victim Flees After Alleged Brutal Assault
Dyfed-Powys Police sprung into action after a neighbouring force alerted them on March 10. A woman had arrived at hospital with a suspected broken pelvis. She claimed her partner had seriously assaulted her.
Officers learned the victim had managed to escape the 36-year-old suspect during the attack, which occurred five days earlier.
Nicholas Found and Quizzed
Police launched an urgent manhunt for Darren Nicholas of Park View, Llanelli. He was caught the very next day. During questioning, Nicholas bizarrely blamed a dog for the victim’s injuries.
Caught Out and Charged
But detectives weren’t fooled. After further investigation, Nicholas was charged with unlawful wounding causing grievous bodily harm.
He appeared at Swansea Crown Court on April 25.
Jail Time and More Trouble
Nicholas was sentenced to 15 months for this attack. That’s not all – he was also sentenced for another, unrelated grievous bodily harm charge from a separate incident in Llanelli.
He will serve a total of 33 months behind bars.
