Glen Burdess was riding his quad bike in a field on Mendip Close, Peterlee, on the afternoon of Wednesday, September 13. Spotting police nearby, the 27-year-old didn’t stop. Instead, he drove straight at an officer, shattering his tibia and fibula.

Speeding Off and Facing Justice

Burdess then fled the scene but was soon arrested. At an earlier hearing in Durham Crown Court, he admitted causing serious injury by dangerous driving, dangerous driving, and driving without insurance.

Harsh Sentence for Dangerous Rider

Today at Durham Crown Court, Burdess was slammed with a four-year prison sentence. He was also banned from driving for 66 months – a tough crackdown for his reckless actions.
