Girl, 15, Killed by Brother at Holiday Park
Amanda Selby, just 15, tragically died at Ty Mawr Holiday Park in Towyn, Conwy county last Saturday. Her 19-year-old brother, Matthew Selby, has been charged with her murder.
Family and Friends Mourn
Jiu Jitsu club Kamiza Dojo revealed Amanda and her mother were pillars of their community. “Amanda and her mum have been a big part of our club for many years,” the club said. “They always supported the running of the club and its students. We are truly heartbroken.”
Droylsden Academy in Manchester, Amanda’s school, expressed deep sorrow. “Our school family is devastated by this awful news,” the school said. “Amanda was a lovely student and will be sorely missed by students and staff.”
Brother Denied Bail, Trial Set
Matthew Selby appeared at Mold Crown Court via videolink from HMP Berwyn. He only confirmed his identity. The court remanded him in custody with a provisional trial date set for 28 February. The trial is expected to last five to seven days.
Matthew is also due back in court for a plea hearing on 29 October.
