Cross-Dressing Care Home Peeping Tom Busted After Nighttime Spree

Shocked witnesses watched as Paul Whittaker prowled care homes wearing women’s underwear — bra, knickers, stockings — and exposed himself to staff. The 53-year-old tried to hide his identity by donning masks or draping knickers over his face.

Six Shocking Incidents in Burnley and Brierfield

  • August 17 (Burnley): Around 4.30am, Whittaker was spotted sporting a white clown mask, white basque, pink bloomer-style knickers, stockings, and suspenders on care home grounds.
  • New Year’s Day at 11.15pm (Brierfield): He exposed himself while wearing knickers on his head.
  • January 27 (Burnley, 7-7.15am): Caught in a mask and Spiderman jogging bottoms.
  • February 1 (Burnley, 6am): Seen clad in a bloodied white bandage mask, blue top, and white bra, exposing himself.
  • April 24 (Burnley, 4am): CCTV caught him in similar gear to the Brierfield offence.
  • May 10 (Burnley, 2.50am): Filmed on mobile phone wearing light-coloured underwear on head and chest, a ripped blue nurse top, suspenders, and pink knickers.

Police Crack Case with Car Clue and Home Raid

Cops tracked a Peugeot 206 seen near several offences back to Whittaker’s home in Berrington Way, Oakworth. Inside, officers found women’s lingerie and clothes matching those worn during the incidents.

At Burnley Crown Court, Whittaker—now with no fixed address—was found guilty of six counts of indecent exposure. He awaits sentencing on December 21 after being remanded in custody.

Detective Praises Police Efforts; Public Relieved

“Whittaker is a prolific offender who carried out his perverted offending over a prolonged period,” said DC Lee Walker of Burnley CID. “A significant amount of police resources went into identifying and arresting him. Without that, he would still be offending today.”

“Despite overwhelming evidence, Whittaker refused to admit what he had done. I thank the jury and my colleagues for their dedication during this complex investigation.”

“The public will be appalled by his abhorrent offending and pleased this persistent criminal is behind bars.”
