Radcliffe Man Jailed for Grooming Girls Online
Christopher Kelly, 56, of Cranbook Street, Radcliffe, has been locked up for two years. The Minshull Street Crown Court sentenced him on Friday, 28 October 2022 after he pleaded guilty to breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and using the internet to contact underage girls.
Online Vigilantes Help Nab Kelly
Kelly was snapped up in September, thanks to multiple online vigilante groups. These groups had been chatting with him using fake profiles of various 13-year-old girls, exposing his creeper tactics.
Police Warn Offenders: We’re Watching You
Detective Constable Adam Gosling of GMP’s Complex Safeguarding Team said: “Kelly’s actions are deplorable and completely unacceptable. The safety of our young people is a top priority for Greater Manchester Police.
“I hope this result sends a stark warning to offenders that these behaviours will not be tolerated.
“I would encourage anyone affected by this case to come forward. We will listen and take your allegations seriously. Victims should never feel at fault when preyed on by offenders.
“GMP will do their utmost to investigate all reports of this type of crime and bring perpetrators to justice.”
