Catapult Chaos in Lavender Hill: Man Caught After Dawn Break-In

Just before 4am on Sunday, 20 November 2022, police rushed to Lavender Hill following reports of a shed break-in. A man spotted nearby sparked a foot chase involving a determined officer and two brave members of the public. The suspect was finally caught and arrested close by.

Catapult Fired During Police Pursuit

Disturbingly, the man allegedly fired a catapult during the chase. Authorities say this weapon was also used earlier to damage a property before officers arrived on the scene.

Criminal Couple of Days

Meet Alfie Rossiter, 53, from Reeves Crescent, Swanley. On Monday 21 November, he faced multiple charges connected to the Lavender Hill incident, including three assaults, possession of an offensive weapon, criminal damage, burglary, and public order offences — one involving homophobic abuse towards a police officer.

But that’s not all. Rossiter is also linked to separate crimes from Friday 18 November: allegedly stealing a TV from Asda in London Road, Swanley, assaulting witnesses, driving while disqualified, and taking a car without the owner’s consent.

Behind Bars Until December Court Date

Rossiter appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 22 November and was remanded in custody. He’s due back at Maidstone Crown Court on 20 December.
