Predator Oliver Luke Jailed for Sex Attacks Across Cornwall
Oliver Luke pleaded guilty at Truro Crown Court on 14 October to multiple sex offences. He faces eight years behind bars in a Young Offenders Institute, followed by potential release. Luke will be on the sex offenders register for life.
Chilling Attacks on Women Over Months
- October 2019: After a night of drinking with a group at a victim’s home, Luke lingered. Unknown to the woman, he stayed behind and sexually assaulted her. She fought him off and he fled.
- May 17, 2020 – Camborne: Luke drank with a woman and two others. The others left separately, leaving Luke alone with the victim. He sexually assaulted her and strangled her neck. The woman escaped and reported him to police.
- May 24, 2020 – St Austell: Luke attacked a woman walking alone at night. He sexually assaulted her before a member of the public interrupted. Police quickly arrested him and charged him with all offences that day.
Police and Prosecutors Praise Victims’ Courage
“We welcome the sentence handed down today,” said the investigating officer. “Thanks to the victims’ bravery, justice has been served. We hope this brings closure and sends a clear warning — offenders will be caught and punished.”
Senior Crown Prosecutor Stella Waata added, “Sexual assault cases are tough to prosecute, but thanks to a thorough police investigation and the courageous women who came forward, the CPS secured a strong case leading to guilty pleas.”
