Shaun Dyson appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court today, dressed in a checked shirt and black jeans. He only spoke to confirm his name, address, and date of birth during the brief first hearing. Dyson faces charges over the death of his wife, Lucy Rushton.
Tragic Incident Unfolds in Early Hours
Police were called to a Suffolk Road home at 5.30am on Sunday after Lucy Rushton was found injured. Despite efforts to save her, she was later pronounced dead at the scene. Dyson, whose address was confirmed in court as Suffolk Road, was arrested that same evening.
Case Referred to Crown Court
Magistrate Janice Gabriel has referred the case to Basingstoke Crown Court for a hearing on Friday, 29 June. Shaun Dyson remains in custody as the investigation continues.
