Four alpacas and a sheep were cruelly shot dead in a chilling attack near Gamlingay, Cambridgeshire. Police are hunting for the culprits behind this shocking act of animal cruelty in East Hatley.
Nighttime Horror in East Hatley
The brutal shooting took place between 6pm on Saturday, March 22, and 8.30am the following morning at a property off Main Street. Four alpacas and a sheep were killed, and a fifth alpaca was left with a gunshot wound to the face but survived against the odds.
Police Launch Full Investigation
The Rural Crime Action Team is leading the probe, going door-to-door and appealing for witnesses. Sergeant Tom Nuttall/strong said:
“This was a highly distressing crime that has caused death and serious injury to defenceless animals. I would encourage anyone who knows anything about this offence to get in touch as soon as possible.”
The attack has sent shockwaves through the local farming community, raising fears for livestock safety in the area.
