Crime Roundup: Bromley & Bexley Courts Serve Justice
On Friday, May 10, 2024, Bromley and Bexley Magistrates’ Courts passed down sentences in a string of cases involving assaults, drink and drug driving, theft, and more.
Violence and Disorder Put on Ice
- Arif Altan, 34, Eltham: Found guilty of three assaults over two days in February. Also broke a community protection notice by shouting and using obscene language. Sentenced to a one-year community order and ordered to pay £400 compensation.
- Luke O’Toole, 41, no fixed address: Breached a community protection notice banning him from Woolwich Town Centre. Fined £100 for failing to comply on May 9.
Drink and Drug Driving Cases
- Kelly Addison, 48, Cambridge: Caught drink driving in Welling on May 9 with a breath reading over three times the legal limit. Disqualified for two years and fined £1,307.
- Mohammed Karim, 29, Beckenham: Admitted drug driving and cannabis possession in Lewisham. Disqualified for 13 months and fined £700.
- Richard Ryan, 36, Grove Park: Drink driving in Bromley with a reading nearly triple the limit. Fined £120 and hit with 10 penalty points.
- Danny Lee, 44, Thamesmead: Pleaded guilty to drug driving, driving without due care, driving while disqualified, and failing to stop in Kidbrooke on October 12.
- Charlie Edwards, 32, Mottingham: Refused to provide a blood sample after suspected driving offences in Chislehurst. Also found with cannabis. Banned for 14 months and fined £120.
- Anthony Sales, 45, Bromley: Drink driving with a reading more than double the legal limit on Park Avenue. Disqualified for 20 months and fined £440.
Theft and Damage Sentences
- Emma Lockyer, 39, Bellingham: Admitted stealing bottles from a Bromley Co-op store. Fined £120.
- Erroll Tavenier, 41, no fixed address: Caused criminal damage by smashing a perspex screen at Croydon Police Station. Sentenced to nine weeks in jail.
