Pervert Caught: Man Exposed Himself to Woman on Train

A disgusting sightseer has been locked up for a year after exposing himself to a young woman on a London to St Albans train.

Shameful Act Stirs Fear on Public Transport

Shane Youngman, 43, from Burgess Hill, West Sussex, deliberately sat opposite a 19-year-old woman on a packed train despite other seats being free. He stared at her, making her uneasy before touching himself over his trousers and then brazenly exposing himself.

The traumatised victim fled to another carriage, but Youngman followed. Left with no choice, she moved again and sought help from fellow female passengers, who rallied to support her and raise the alarm.

Justice Served: Jail, Orders and Restrictions

At Crawley Magistrates’ Court on 7 February, Youngman pleaded guilty to exposure. He was sentenced to 12 months behind bars.

Besides jail time, he’s slapped with a five-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and a Criminal Behaviour Order.

Harsh Restrictions to Keep Public Safe

  • Must notify offender manager 24 hours before travelling on any railway
  • Forbidden from approaching, following, or contacting women on public transport
  • No undoing clothes or lewd behaviour in public

Breaking the SHPO means more jail time – so this creep will be monitored closely.

Police Praise Victim and Good Samaritans

DC Stacey Adams said: “Youngman’s behaviour was absolutely disgusting, and there is zero tolerance for this on the rail network. I would like to commend the victim for her bravery in reporting the incident and thank the group of women who came to her aid.”

“Not only has Youngman received a custodial sentence, but he will also live under the restrictions of his SHPO for five years to prevent further offending. Tackling violence against women and girls is one of our key priorities. Anyone who is a victim of a sexual offence can report it discreetly by texting 61016. Always call 999 in an emergency.”

The message is clear: perverts won’t be tolerated on UK trains. Stay vigilant and speak up.
