Man Guilty of Brutal Murder in Hayes

Sufian Choudry, 39, has been found guilty of murdering 40-year-old Krzysztof Baran in Hayes. The verdict came after a trial at Isleworth Crown Court on Friday, 19 July. Choudry, who has no fixed address, was remanded in custody and will be sentenced on Wednesday, 24 July.

Detectives Unmask Murder Lies

Detective Sergeant Andy Sheppard of the Met’s Specialist Crime Command slammed the killer’s attempts to dodge justice. He said: “This was a needless, brutal murder that Sufian Choudry initially tried to cover up, and then later tried to blame on the victim saying that he had acted in self-defence. I am pleased that the jury saw through the string of untruths that he told in a bid to get away with murder.”

Crime Scene Horror and CCTV Evidence

  • On the morning of 12 August 2023, police were called to reports of a man seriously injured at a multi-occupancy house on Nine Acres Close, Hayes.
  • Paramedics found Krzysztof dead in his room, with a significant amount of blood indicating a violent crime.
  • Choudry, who called for the ambulance, had blood on him when officers spoke to him and was immediately arrested for murder.
  • A post-mortem confirmed Krzysztof died from a stab wound and had bruising on his face.
  • Choudry claimed to have found Krzysztof injured and said he acted in self-defence, but CCTV told a different story.

The footage showed Choudry refusing to leave Krzysztof’s room the night before the murder, punching him repeatedly despite his pleas. After Krzysztof threatened to call the police, the two argued, a scream was heard, and Choudry was seen leaving with a knife in hand. Later, he disposed of the weapon and changed his clothes to hide the evidence.

Family Heartbreak and Justice Served

Krzysztof’s former partner shared the devastating impact on their daughter: “At just 12 years old, her father was murdered. She often blames herself, struggling to understand why someone would kill him. No child should have to deal with losing a parent like this or carry that guilt.”

She added: “We are slowly coming to terms with Krzysztof’s death, but my daughter will never be the same happy girl with a huge smile on her face. Justice has prevailed with the guilty verdict, but nothing brings him back.”

DS Sheppard concluded: “My thoughts are with Krzysztof’s family. Though nothing can bring him back, I hope the guilty verdict brings them some comfort. Sufian Choudry is a violent individual, and the public is safer with him behind bars.”
