Man Arrested for Manslaughter After Fatal Assault in Blackburn
Police were called to River Way last October 29 at around 5.20pm following reports of a sudden death. Officers found 45-year-old James O’Hara dead at the scene.
James O’Hara’s Death Linked to Assault
Detectives believe James O’Hara was attacked on October 19. A post-mortem confirmed his injuries played a role in his death.
Suspect Michael Hannan Charged
A man in his 30s was initially arrested and bailed on suspicion of murder. Now, 31-year-old Michael Hannan of Tynwald Road, Blackburn, has been charged with manslaughter after consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service.
Court Appearance Set for Tomorrow
Hannan is due to appear at Burnley Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, July 5. Police continue their investigation as the community seeks answers.
