Clapham Common Sex Attacker Caught and Admits Guilt
John Nyhan, 22, from Wandsworth, has confessed to multiple sexual assaults on teenage girls near Clapham Common. The man pleaded guilty to three sexual assault charges at Kingston Crown Court.
Harassment Guilty Plea Comes First
Nyhan had already admitted to one count of harassment at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court in mid-February. Police linked him to a crime spree spanning January to early February.
Detectives Urge More Victims to Come Forward
“Nyhan remains in custody until sentencing,” said Detective Inspector Aaron Moon. “His offending caused serious concern locally, and his conviction should ease fears. We suspect there may be more victims who haven’t come forward yet. We urge anyone affected to contact the police.”
Behind The Scenes: The Investigation
- Three sexual assaults took place between 8 January and 4 February around Clapham Common.
- Nyhan was arrested on 11 February and charged two days later.
- He will be sentenced at Kingston Crown Court on 10 April.
The community can hope for justice as Nyhan awaits the judge’s verdict behind bars.
