Farnborough Flats Shut Down Over Drug and Disorder Crackdown
Magistrates have slammed partial and full closure orders on two ground-floor flats in Robin Hood Close, Farnborough, after persistent reports of anti-social behaviour and suspected drug activity.
Three Months of Lockdown
Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court approved the orders under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014. For the next three months, it’s a criminal offence for anyone to enter these properties unless police-authorised (for the full closure) or named on the partial closure.
Breaching the orders risks arrest and prosecution.
Police Act After Community Complaints
Hampshire Constabulary pushed for the closure to tackle growing concerns around drugs and disorder linked to the flats.
“We took this step after numerous reports about anti-social behaviour at these addresses,” said PC Kat Armstrong from Farnborough Neighbourhood Policing Team.
“We listened to local residents and teamed up with housing association A2 Dominion to take action.
“The occupants’ activities harmed the quality of life for neighbours. This order wouldn’t be possible without community support, and we thank them for it.
“We hope this sends a clear message: anti-social behaviour won’t be tolerated and we will use every power at our disposal to stop it.
If you spot anti-social behaviour in your area, call your local policing team on 101.”
