Man Caught Exposing Himself and Assaulting Woman in Coventry Park
A shocking daylight attack in Coventry’s War Memorial Park has left locals stunned. Ranjit Sadra, 45, has pleaded guilty to indecent exposure and sexual assault after brazenly exposing himself and touching a woman in the busy park.
Disturbing Incident in Family-Favourite Park
The incident unfolded in broad daylight in the bustling War Memorial Park, Cheylesmore, a favourite spot for families, joggers, and children. Witnesses say Sadra began undressing openly, ignoring the presence of young children nearby.
In a separate but related act on the same day, Sadra inappropriately touched another woman in the park. Quick-thinking members of the public alerted police immediately, leading to his arrest at the scene.
Swift Justice and Calls for Better Safety
Sadra appeared at Coventry Magistrates’ Court on 24 April and admitted guilt on both counts. He now awaits sentencing on 22 May at Coventry Crown Court.
“We take incidents of sexual assault and indecent exposure extremely seriously. Swift action was taken, and the offender will be held accountable,” said a West Midlands Police spokesperson.
Local councillors have echoed concerns and are demanding stronger security measures — including increased police patrols and better CCTV coverage — to protect families using the park.
Community on Alert After Harrowing Crime
War Memorial Park remains a cherished green space and hosts many community events. Yet this crime has shattered the peace for local residents, sparking urgent calls for action.
According to the 2023 Crime Survey for England and Wales, sexual offences in parks are rare but devastating. Victims and communities often suffer lasting impacts.
Residents are urged to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity. Sadra faces a possible prison sentence, depending on the court’s decision.
This case highlights the ongoing battle to keep Coventry’s public areas safe for everyone.
