Thompson was convicted of two counts of assault by penetration and one count of assault by touching. The offences took place after he invited the young victim into his home. He denied all charges but was sentenced to nine years in prison.
Refused to Accept Responsibility
Following his arrest, Thompson gave a prepared statement but then refused further questioning. Detective Constable Matt Mullen described Thompson’s behaviour as “predatory” and warned it would leave a lasting scar on the victim.
“Thompson has refused to take responsibility for his actions throughout the investigation and court case,” said DC Mullen.
