Notorious Paedophile Gavin Cuthbert Set for Sentencing Over Fresh Child Sex Crimes

A vile paedophile is finally facing sentencing this week for a string of appalling child sex offences he admitted over a year ago.

Already Locked Up, More Jail Time Awaits

Gavin Cuthbert, 50, is currently serving an 11-year term for child abuse. Now he’s back before Belfast Crown Court on 1st [month], facing another heavy sentence.

The predator pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting three more children over a chilling 30-year spree between 1988 and 2018 – some offences committed while he was out on police bail.

Cuthbert hails from the Albertbridge Road area of east Belfast and is branded one of Northern Ireland’s most dangerous and prolific sex offenders.

His victims include talented footballer Paul Stirling, whose bravery in speaking out led to Cuthbert’s initial jailing and dozens of other victims stepping forward.

The latest abuse happened on sinister, arranged trips to hotels in newcastle/" title="Newcastle" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Newcastle, Co Down, and a caravan park in Millisle. One youngster was lured in with sweets from a ‘tuck shop’ Cuthbert ran on the top floor of his former home.

Gavin is not alone in his monstrous behaviour. His brother, former football coach Mark Cuthbert, is serving eight years for abusing children – including Paul Stirling.

A third brother, known as ‘Billy’ Cuthbert, was released in 2018 after a four-year sentence for gross indecency with a female child.

The trio have been dubbed the ‘beasts from the east’ for terrorising children across east Belfast. Police warn their crimes rank among the most horrific ever investigated.
