Norfolk Drug Dealer Busted for £7 Million Cocaine and Cannabis Smuggling Plot
A Norfolk drug dealer who planned to use fake Deliveroo drivers to move nearly £7 million worth of cocaine and cannabis has been locked up for a dozen years.
Messages Unveil Massive Drug Operation
Robert Fuller, 50, from Smallburgh Road near Pennygate, Norwich, was sentenced after police uncovered his role in importing and selling huge quantities of drugs across the UK. His messages on the encrypted app EncroChat revealed his attempts to buy a handgun and move drugs disguised as fast food deliveries.
The Eastern Region Special Operations Unit (ERSOU) investigation exposed Fuller’s scheme to buy fake Deliveroo uniforms to fool the police while transporting drugs. Chats under his “Quasifighter” handle showed plans to import liquid cocaine from Peru hidden in jars of asparagus and stash cash and drugs in vehicles with secret compartments.
Drug Sales, Money Laundering, and High-Tech Hides
- 159kg of cocaine worth £6.5 million sold
- 98kg of cannabis valued at £364,000
- Money laundering through a Norwich car sales business
- Using recovery trucks to move drugs and cash
Fuller fled to Bali after EncroChat was taken down but was caught trying to return via ferry to Anglesey in January 2022. Police seized Deliveroo outfits and vehicles with hidden drug compartments in searches of his home and businesses in August 2021.
Justice Served at Norwich Crown Court
Fuller pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply cocaine and cannabis in April 2022. On 31 October, Norwich Crown Court sentenced him to 12 years behind bars.
“Robert Fuller was a high-level criminal who played a significant role in pushing class A drugs across the UK,” said Detective Inspector Jim Fincham from ERSOU’s Regional Organised Crime Unit.
“He used elaborate methods to hide his crimes, but despite attempting to dodge arrest, our team caught him the moment he returned to the UK. Our region is safer with him off the streets.”
