A 52-year-old man from Eastbourne has been hit with a hefty nine-and-a-half-year jail sentence after being found guilty of multiple child sex offences.
Groomed Girl Into “Normal Relationship”
Back in 2011, the predator groomed and repeatedly abused a 13-year-old girl. He twisted her mind into believing their sick relationship was “normal.”
The victim bravely cut ties but only came forward a decade later in 2021, as an adult.
Justice Delivered at Lewes Crown Court
Following a thorough police investigation, the 52-year-old was convicted at Lewes Crown Court on nine counts of sexual activity with a child and two counts of causing a child to commit sexual activity.
- Sentence: 9 years 6 months in prison
- Lifetime registration on the sex offenders’ list
- Indefinite restraining order imposed
Police Praise Survivor’s Bravery
“We commend the victim’s bravery in coming forward,” said a Sussex Police spokesperson. “No matter how long it takes, we are determined to seek justice in historic abuse cases.”
This grim case proves safeguarding can win and justice can come, even years after the abuse.
