Ex-Islamic Teacher Jailed for Sickening Attacks on Young Girls
A 71-year-old former Islamic teacher from Ipswich has been locked up for horrific sexual assaults on young girls that spanned over a decade.
Hafez Ashraf Uddin Gets 12 Years Behind Bars
Hafez Ashraf Uddin, once a respected religious teacher, was sentenced to 12 years in prison at Ipswich Crown Court on Friday, 21 November. Along with jail time, he received a lifetime Sex Offenders’ Register order and an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order. Originally from Wivenhoe Road, Barking, London, Uddin was convicted of 13 counts of indecent assault after a grueling four-week trial.
At Least 29 Attacks On Six Girls Revealed
The sickening assaults took place between 1985 and 1999, targeting six girls aged 7 to 14. Uddin faced 22 charges involving seven victims but was cleared of nine counts. The horrific crimes included forcing his hand inside a victim’s trousers and repeatedly touching or squeezing young girls’ breasts.

“The victims were all young children who trusted him,” the court heard.
