Faversham Man Jailed for Six and a Half Years Over Rape and Sexual Assault

David Jones Convicted After Brutal Attack in Sittingbourne

David Jones, 26, from Feaver Drive, Faversham, has been handed a hefty prison sentence after being found guilty of rape and sexual assault. The chilling crimes happened on 23 and 24 May 2022 in Sittingbourne.

Victim’s Courage Leads to Arrest

The victim bravely confided in a family member about the ordeal before reporting the offences to Kent Police on 5 June 2022. This sparked a fast police investigation that saw Jones arrested just four days later, on 9 June.

Harsh Sentence and Lifelong Restrictions

Following an intense eight-day trial at Canterbury Crown Court, Jones was sentenced on 30 January 2026 to six years and six months behind bars. In addition, he faces a restraining order and must register as a sex offender for life.

Police Praise Victim’s Strength

“Jones took advantage of his victim for his own sexual gratification and subjected her to a horrific sexual assault,” said Detective Constable Stephanie Wilson. “I am grateful to the victim for her support in securing a conviction and hope that the custodial sentence imposed brings her some closure.”
