Folkestone Burglar Busted and Banged Up in Just One Day

A vehicle thief caught red-handed in Folkestone has been slammed behind bars just 24 hours after a spree of car break-ins.

Rapid Police Response Cracks the Case

At around 12:30 a.m. on Thursday, 3 October 2024, Kent Police rushed to the Broadmead Road area after reports of someone smashing into cars. Officers found three vehicles targeted, with stolen items including a parking badge, phone chargers, and sunglasses. A folding lock knife was also seized at the scene.

Suspect Snared Within Minutes

Police wasted no time. Within 15 minutes of arriving, they arrested Daniel Morrison, 33, a man with no fixed address.

Swift Justice at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court

The very next day, Morrison appeared before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court. He pled guilty to multiple charges: criminal damage, theft, vehicle interference, and possession of a knife in a public place.

He was immediately sentenced to 22 weeks behind bars.

PC Phoebe Cutter said, “Morrison brazenly stole and damaged other people’s property with no regard for the victims and the distress it would cause them. I’m pleased he has been sentenced swiftly and will spend time in prison, making it clear we will not tolerate this kind of criminality, nor the presence of knives, on the streets of Kent.”
