County Lines Drug Dealer Locked Up for Nearly Five Years
Tonderai Magaya, 23, from Norcross Close, Hastings, has been slammed with 56 months behind bars. On top of that, a 12-month suspended sentence was activated to run consecutively, handed down at Lewes Crown Court.
Massive Seizure Hits County Lines Operation
Alongside his jail term, Magaya faces a forfeiture and destruction order for drugs, paraphernalia, and mobile phones seized during the bust. He’s also hit with a £156 victim surcharge.
“This is a positive sentencing as a result of the collaborative working between forces and shows our determination to disrupt those responsible for county lines drug dealing,” said Detective Constable David Brown.
“Class ‘A’ supply has a significant negative impact on local residents and services. This type of crime remains a significant threat in our communities, and our primary concern remains the exploitation and trafficking of vulnerable adults and children, which we are putting more pressure on dealers every month.”
Dawn Raids Rock Hastings, Eastbourne, and London
Magaya was arrested at his home on May 4 and quickly admitted dealing cocaine the next day at Hastings Magistrates Court.
This arrest was part of a wider crackdown with dawn raids hitting Eastbourne, Hastings, and London. Sussex Police, backed by Metropolitan Police and Surrey Police, executed 19 drug warrants and arrested 18 suspected dealers.
