Nicola Wake, 42, a care worker in Stockton, has been caught stealing from a vulnerable 100-year-old resident. Over two years, she spent around £12,000 using the elderly victim’s bank cards.
Police uncovered Wake’s brazen spending spree, which included unauthorised purchases from Amazon, Uber Eats, and local shops. She also made repeated cash withdrawals and even ordered new bank cards—all without the resident’s knowledge.
Justice Served at Teesside Crown Court
Wake pleaded guilty on 11th December 2024 to multiple charges:
- Fraud by abuse of position
- Fraud by false representation
- Forgery and counterfeiting
On 3rd February 2025, she was handed a 15-month suspended sentence and ordered to complete 150 hours of unpaid work, alongside financial penalties.
