Sex Beast Alex Patel-Wills Jailed for 25 Years Over Shocking Attacks on Female Students
Predator’s Reign of Terror
Alex Patel-Wills, 26, has been slammed with a 25-year prison sentence after a jury found him guilty of vicious sexual offences against five women, including students at the University of Sussex. Lewes Crown Court handed down 19 years behind bars plus a six-year extended licence on release.
Horrific Attacks Across Sussex and London
The twisted crimes unfolded between 2018 and 2021 in Brighton, on the university campus, and London. The chilling case broke open after a woman reported being raped at a Brighton flat in October 2021. Specialist detectives then uncovered four more brutal attacks, as more victims bravely spoke out:
- One woman was repeatedly raped and sexually abused as a teenager.
- Another was targeted while vulnerable at a London flat.
- A sexual assault took place on campus in 2020.
- And a rape happened at Patel-Wills’ home in Brighton.
Judge Slams Lack of Remorse – Victims Devastated
Patel-Wills faced five rape charges, two sexual assaults and two assaults by penetration. The jury convicted him of four rapes, two sexual assaults and one assault by penetration, acquitting him on two counts.
The judge blasted Patel-Wills for showing zero remorse. Victims delivered gut-wrenching impact statements, revealing the severe, lasting trauma and mental health struggles caused by his offences.
Police and University Praise Victims’ Courage, Urge Others to Speak Up
Sussex Police praised the bravery of the victims, saying their courage was crucial in bringing Patel-Wills to justice. The force emphasised that every report of sexual violence is taken seriously and investigated thoroughly.
The University of Sussex condemned the attacks in the strongest terms and confirmed it is reviewing safeguarding procedures to protect students.
Detectives urged anyone affected by sexual violence to report it immediately and seek specialist support.
