London Car Chase Ends With Four Men Busted Over Medway Robbery
Violent Home Invasion Sparks Dramatic Police Hunt
Kent Police were called to Balmoral Road, Gillingham, at about 9pm on Thursday, 2 January 2024 after reports of intruders trying to break into a home. Officers found two victims inside with head injuries. Paramedics treated them at the scene before rushing them to hospital.
High-Speed Pursuit Into London
A swift police response saw officers spot a suspicious Ford Focus on the A20 heading towards Lewisham. The driver refused to stop, triggering a dangerous chase that ended in London when the car smashed into a barrier. The suspects bolted on foot.
Thanks to quick work from a police helicopter and Metropolitan Police patrols, all four suspects were caught and arrested.
Robbery Charges and Court Date Set
- Mustafa Rahim, 28, of Sydenham – charged with robbery and dangerous driving
- Tajsharn Cummings, 25, no fixed address – charged with robbery
- John Smith, 24, of Basildon, Essex – charged with robbery
- Deniqko Benton, 19, of East Ham – charged with robbery and possession of cannabis
All four appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, 4 January 2024. They have been remanded to appear at Woolwich Crown Court on 3 February 2024.
