One Tonne of Cocaine Seized Off Cornwall Coast

Border Force officers have made a massive haul, intercepting a fishing boat packed with about one tonne of cocaine near Newquay, Cornwall. The bust happened on 13 September 2024 during a joint operation led by the National Crime Agency (NCA).

Four Men Charged with Drug Importation

The four men aboard the vessel were quickly identified: Michael Kelly, 45, from Manchester; Jon Paul Williams, 46, and Patrick Godfrey, 30, both from Swansea; and Jake Marchant, 26, currently of no fixed address. All face charges of importing a controlled Class A drug.

Suspects Remanded and Court Date Set

After their arrest, the suspects were remanded in custody. They are due to appear at Bodmin Magistrates’ Court today, 16 September 2024.
