Detectives have charged a man following a savage murder in Gravesend. The Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate launched a probe after a 31-year-old man was found with severe head and stomach wounds in St Patrick’s Gardens on the evening of Saturday 21 July 2018.

Victim Dies After Emergency Hospital Battle

The victim, from Cranbrook, was rushed to a London hospital but tragically died the next morning, Sunday 22 July. Formal ID is yet to be confirmed.

Joe Chuter, 28, Held and Charged with Murder

Joe Chuter, 28, of Taunton Vale, Gravesend, has been charged with murder. He remains in custody and is set to appear via virtual link at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 24 July, following Crown Prosecution Service approval.
