Violent Rampage in Crawley: Man Charged After Brutal Attack on Police Leaving Three Officers Injured
A man has been hit with multiple violent offence charges after a horrific showdown with police in Crawley left three officers hurt.
Chaos on Gossops Drive: Attack During Arrest
The drama unfolded at 2:30pm on Saturday, 31 May 2025, when Sussex Police tried to arrest a suspect at a property on Gossops Drive, Gossops Green. The man went berserk, violently assaulting officers during the attempted arrest.
Suspect Charged with GBH, ABH & Non-Fatal Strangulation
The suspect, 43-year-old Mohammed Rasool, fled into a nearby home but was quickly caught. He now faces serious charges including:
- Grievous Bodily Harm with intent (GBH)
- Two counts of Actual Bodily Harm (ABH)
- Two counts of Non-Fatal Strangulation
Rasool is remanded in custody and will appear before Crawley Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 2 June 2025.
All three injured officers were rushed to hospital. Thankfully, their injuries are serious but not life-threatening.

Superintendent Steve Biglands slammed the violent attack and hailed the courage of his officers, saying:
