‘Dangerous’ Drug Dealer Caught with Luxury Cars and Jamaica Links
Dominic Denton, 42, from Ipswich, has been jailed for eight and a half years after failing to explain how he funded his lavish lifestyle. The convicted drug dealer flaunted luxury motorbikes and high-performance cars while maintaining links to a property in Jamaica.
Drug Empire Busted at Ipswich Crown Court
Denton, convicted of possessing diamorphine and cocaine with intent to supply, was sentenced on Wednesday, April 3, at Ipswich Crown Court. He previously made frequent trips to Jamaica and owned property there, raising suspicions about his sources of income.
Police uncovered cash flows of £20,450 and £18,100 linked to Denton’s drug deals, with no legitimate explanation for such spending. This helped build the case against him.
Serious Crime Prevention Orders Target Suffolk’s Underworld
Following Denton’s sentence, authorities slapped Serious Crime Prevention Orders on his associate, Crossfield, and are seeking a similar order against Denton. These orders restrict individuals’ dealings, meetings, use of premises and communication tools such as mobile phones, and travel both domestically and abroad.
Detective Chief Inspector Matt Bodmer warned: “Denton and Crossfield are dangerous individuals who exploit the vulnerable. We’re committed to making Suffolk an uncomfortable place for drug dealers.”
He urged the public to report any suspicious activity: “You don’t have to be certain, just concerned. Use our website, call 101, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously at www.crimestoppers-uk.org or 0800 555 111.”
