Jamie Simpson, 30, sparked a massive manhunt across the Isle of Wight after smashing a bottle over a woman’s head in Lake last weekend. The thug went on the run but was nabbed by police early Sunday morning.

Serious Assault Leaves Woman Injured

Police confirmed Simpson has been charged with grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent and possession of an offensive weapon. The victim, a 21-year-old woman, suffered significant injuries in the Friday, December 20 attack.

Custody and Court Appearance

Simpson, who lives on Culver Parade, remains in custody. He is due to appear at Newport Magistrates Court tomorrow (Monday), facing serious charges for this shocking assault.

A police spokesperson said: “Officers investigating a serious assault in Lake have charged a man with GBH with intent and possession of an offensive weapon. The victim was left with significant injuries following Friday’s incident.”
