A vicious drug turf war in Norwich has ended in horror. Leon Bangura, 22, was convicted of murdering 19-year-old Kalvin Taylor in a savage stabbing inside a local flat.

Lightning-Fast Stabbing Shakes Norwich Flat

In a chilling two-minute raid last September, Kalvin Taylor was stabbed to death with a brutal Rambo-style knife in a flat on Lefroy Road, Norwich. The attack shocked the community and brought gang violence to the forefront.

Kalvin was linked to the notorious ‘Batman’ gang, known for their ruthless county lines drug operations. Bangura was tied to their fierce foes, the ‘Lenny’ gang, turning this deadly feud into a fatal showdown.

Eight Hours of Deliberation Ends in Guilty Verdict

After over eight hours of intense jury discussion, Norwich Crown Court found Bangura guilty of murder. He faces sentencing on April 23.

Bangura’s co-defendants, Adam Dugdale, 56, and Carrie-Anne Hall, 52, were cleared of murder and manslaughter charges. Soulay Formah, 19, had previously been acquitted.

Cold-Blooded Crime Details Revealed

  • Kalvin was staying at the Lefroy Road flat, where tenants acted as key witnesses.
  • Bangura came to the flat to collect £200 owed by Richard Iverson, one of the tenants.
  • CCTV caught a suspicious white Audi A3, likely an unlicensed taxi, entering and leaving near the time of the stabbing.
  • Bangura changed clothes nearby before being spotted on camera at the train station.

Bangura claimed self-defence, telling the jury he feared for his life after seeing Kalvin with a “big knife beside him.” “I thought I was going to die,” he said.

Dugdale admitted making a drug call but said he was “petrified” after threats from Bangura. Hall insisted she had no idea violence would erupt and didn’t know Kalvin.

Detective Praises Family’s Bravery Amid Harrowing Case

“Kalvin’s family have shown immense courage throughout this lengthy and harrowing trial,” said Detective Inspector David McCormack, senior investigating officer. “This case demanded extraordinary detective work and intelligence gathering.”

The community now waits anxiously for sentence day as the brutal rivalry between county lines gangs leaves a deep scar on Norwich streets.
