Man Charged After Woman and Two Children Stabbed in East London Attack
A 48-year-old man has been charged with three counts of attempted murder following a brutal stabbing in Dagenham, East London. Kulvinder Ram is due to appear at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on October 28 in connection with the attack.
Violent Attack on First Avenue
The horrifying incident unfolded on October 25 at around 5:35 pm on First Avenue. Emergency services were called to find a woman in her 30s, an eight-year-old girl, and a two-year-old boy all suffering stab wounds. The trio was rushed to hospital by London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance.
Suspect Arrested and in Custody
Ram was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder. Police took him to hospital after he fell ill but he has since been discharged and remains in police custody. Scotland Yard confirmed the victims’ injuries are not believed to be life-threatening and said everyone involved is known to each other.
Police Launch Full Investigation
Detective Superintendent Lewis Basford described the attack as “truly shocking” and thanked local residents for their help. “At this early stage, we believe those involved were known to each other, and we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident,” he said.
A crime scene remains active and police presence will be increased in the area over the coming days. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact police on 101.
