Man Charged with Murder After Fatal Croydon Shooting
A 39-year-old man is in custody, accused of murdering 41-year-old Anthony Morrison in a chilling shooting on Imperial Way, Croydon.
Byron Cole Held Over Fatal Shooting
Byron Cole, from Gleneldon Road, Lambeth, faces charges of murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life. The Metropolitan Police confirmed the charges on Tuesday.
Cole has been remanded in custody and is set to appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court later today, Tuesday 24 June.
Tragedy Strikes on Imperial Way
Emergency services rushed to reports of gunfire at 5.04pm on Thursday, 19 June. Officers discovered Anthony Morrison suffering from gunshot wounds.
Despite paramedics’ best efforts and aid from members of the public, Morrison was pronounced dead at the scene.
His family have been informed and are receiving support from specially trained officers.
Another Arrest Made
The investigation also saw the arrest of a 37-year-old, currently held pending further inquiries.
Police Launch Appeal for Witnesses
Detectives are continuing to probe the full circumstances of the shooting. They urge anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward immediately.
