Man Charged with Murder of 42-Year-Old Gemma Devonish in Carshalton
Suspect Arrested and Charged
James Madden, 38, was arrested in the early hours of Friday, 20 December, following the discovery of Gemma Devonish with fatal injuries at a Carshalton address. The 42-year-old victim was known to Madden. By Saturday, 21 December, he was formally charged with her murder.
Next Court Appearance Scheduled
Madden, who lives on Railton Road, SE24, is set to appear at croydon/" title="Croydon" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Croydon Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 23 December, while in custody.
Investigation Ongoing but No Other Suspects
Detectives from the Specialist Crime Command confirmed they are not seeking anyone else in connection with the case. A post-mortem examination is still awaited to officially determine the cause of death.
