Fake Doc Jailed for Four Years in £2m Property Fraud Scam!
Imposter Snaps Up Property with Doctor Aliases
Junead Ahmed, 33, from Hutton, has been locked up for four years after being caught swindling money using multiple fake doctor identities. The Basildon Crown Court sentenced him on Thursday, November 16, following his confession to six serious charges back in June.
Fraud, Fake IDs and Money Laundering
Ahmed pleaded guilty to:
- Two counts of fraud by false representation
- Two counts of supplying articles for fraud
- Possession of identity documents with intent
- Money laundering under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002
Scam Details: Renting and Buying on Fake Docs
Starting November 2022, Ahmed rented a home in Hutton using the fake name Dr Syed Asad, submitting forged documents claiming he was a GP with ample funds. The following month, he tried to buy a £2 million property in west Essex, showing off bogus bank statements and ID under another alias, Dr Jacob Adams.
Serious Fraud Team investigations revealed Ahmed wasn’t a doctor at all. He had changed his name by deed poll to doctor aliases just to snag passports and driving licences and use fake earnings proof to cover his tracks. His rent payments came straight from laundered criminal cash.
Police Crack Down on Medical Fraud
Ahmed was arrested after a swift two-month probe and charged with six offences. He was remanded in custody and faced Southend-on-Sea Magistrates’ Court on April 21.
“We take fraud, especially those involving fake medical professionals, extremely seriously,” said Detective Constable Samantha Howard of Essex Police’s Serious Fraud Team. “Ahmed showed reckless disregard for the law. We are seeking a Serious Crime Prevention Order to keep tabs on him going forward.”
This case sends a clear warning: don’t fake your way into the medical world – the police will catch you!
