Man Murdered in His Own Home: Victim Named Leon Anderson

Police have identified the victim of a fatal stabbing in Mitcham as 39-year-old Leon Anderson. The chilling attack happened at his Maple Close home on Monday, April 28.

Emergency services raced to the scene around 7.30pm, but despite desperate efforts, Leon was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at hospital.

Murder Charge Laid: Suspect Handed Himself In

Kemuel Gambicky-Forbes, 24, from Deer Park Gardens, has been charged with murder and possession of a bladed weapon linked to the stabbing.

He turned himself in at a South London police station the day after the attack and was arrested immediately. Gambicky-Forbes is set to appear in custody at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court today, May 1.

Police Ramp Up Patrols as Investigation Continues

Detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command are probing the brutal killing. A Met Police spokesperson said:

“The victim’s family is being supported by specially trained officers. Our thoughts are with them at this very difficult time.”

Police have increased patrols in Mitcham to reassure local residents following the shocking murder.

The quiet Maple Close estate is reeling after the tragedy. Neighbours described Leon Anderson as a “friendly and kind-hearted” man.
