Chilling Abuse Spirals Over Months
The horror began in April 2024. After a row over the victim chatting to another bloke in a pub, Bird, 36, throttled her for a chilling 10 seconds.
- Three months later, on a taxi ride home from a night out, Bird accused her of cheating.
- He punched her in the face, spat at her, and threatened to kill her dog when she told him to get lost.
- When she fled home, Bird was already there, landing another brutal blow that knocked her unconscious.
Violence Reaches New Low with Metal Bar Attack
October 2024 saw Bird make a terrifying return. Instead of quietly collecting his clothes, he lunged at the victim with a metal bar.
Bird later admitted to intentional strangulation, threatening with an offensive weapon, and assault causing actual bodily harm.
Three Years Inside and Long Restraining Order
Justice has finally caught up with Bird. He was sentenced to three years behind bars and hit with a 10-year restraining order to keep the victim safe.
