A Metropolitan Police officer has been convicted of rape after a gripping trial at Inner London Crown Court. PC Samuel McGregor, 33, was found guilty on Friday of raping a woman he knew in May 2021.

Top Brass Outraged by ‘Abhorrent’ Behaviour
Chief Superintendent Andy Carter, who oversees policing in Central North, slammed McGregor’s “vile actions.”
“I am sickened by McGregor’s abhorrent behaviour and the pain he has caused the victim. There is simply no place for individuals like McGregor in the Met,” said Carter.
The senior officer praised the police team for their “care and compassion” during the investigation, which gathered solid evidence leading to the conviction. Carter added, “I hope this verdict brings some closure to the victim.”
What’s Next for PC McGregor?
- McGregor, suspended since March 3, 2022, will face a misconduct hearing ASAP.
- He had earlier admitted lying in a police interview.
