Former Probation Worker Charged in Shocking Plymouth Acid Attack and Murder Plot
Brutal Acid Attack at Victim’s Home
Paris Wilson, 34, a former criminal justice worker and mum-of-two, stands accused of orchestrating a terrifying acid attack against her ex-boyfriend, personal trainer Danny Cahalane, 38, in Plymouth.
The horrifying assault took place on February 21, when sulphuric acid was hurled into Cahalane’s face at his own home. His young daughter was asleep during the terrifying incident. Police say Cahalane remains hospitalised and has been moved to a safe location.
Chilling Murder and Kidnap Charges
Wilson, once a trusted probation officer and literacy volunteer at Dartmoor Prison, is charged with conspiracy to murder, conspiracy to kidnap, and involvement with an organised crime group.
She appeared at Plymouth Magistrates’ Court last week and was remanded in custody. She is due back at Plymouth Crown Court on May 12.
From Trusted Worker to Crime Suspect
Wilson’s previous role involved helping prisoners reintegrate into society through housing and employment support. A police insider told The Sun,
“Paris was trusted to access the prison and worked closely with inmates. Nobody can believe she’s now locked up.”
Seven others are also charged, some with drug offences, as part of a wider organised crime investigation by Devon and Cornwall Police.
Investigation Ongoing, More Arrests Possible
Authorities have not ruled out further arrests as the complex investigation unfolds. Community leaders have condemned the attack and are pushing for more support for survivors of violent crime.
